That's a scary thought! I mean, if we are waiting for happiness to come someday, we need to stop and look at what's going on today. I'm hopelessly optimistic. Every day I make it through. But, I'm always knowing that tomorrow will be better than today! No doubt about it. Then tomorrow comes and it's no better than today. So, I'm looking for happiness to come my way tomorrow. The cycle never ends! Time to wake up and see that happiness is now. This is it. I think it was Abraham Lincoln that said something like, "We are as happy as we make up our minds to be." That's so true. Unless we have some major disaster we are dealing with, we had better to find a way to make our hearts sing right now, moment by moment.
I'm absolutely exhausted! I got maybe 3 hours sleep last night. Natalie did not and absolutely would not sleep! She stayed awake much of the night and played. If she doesn't want to sleep, she won't. I slept from 1 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. Then, from 5 a.m. to 7:30. So how many hours is that? More than three! Okay. 4 hours. Anyway, it didn't slow me down today. I was busy every single moment today. I cleaned, scrubbed, moved furniture, polished, laundered, ironed, cooked, "decorated", and played with Naify inbetween here and there. This really was a very fun and productive day.
I am intentionally staying away from politics and war news. I know exactly what we need to do to win this war and you know what? No one will listen to me! Well, there is this one little bitty problem in that my ideas break every single law and rule of conventional warfare. Hey, sometimes you have to fight fire with fire. If you want to win, that is. We will uphold the laws, perform militarily in line with strict guidelines, and eventually go back home humiliated, broken and defeated. Playing nice over there isn't going to accomplish anything but a royal butt whippin'. The insurgents hide behind women and children, infiltrate the military/police, practice gorilla warfare and they are going to be rewarded for these tactics. They will win. I can remember back in the Revolutionary War. Back then it was considered impolite to duck if someone was shooting at you. Can you imagine? The soldiers would stand in lines and face each other. "Ready, aim, fire!" And, then half of them would drop to the ground. They just had to take it like a man. Eventually, we decided that was stupid and started protecting ourselves. Those British soldiers were appalled that not only did we duck for cover, but that we would actually hide in the bushes and shoot at them unawares! How rude and completely unfair!
Man, I'm so sleepy, I don't even know what I'm rambling on about. Pray for our President. For our country. For our soldiers. We need God desperately right now.......
